British Curriculum International Schools

The British curriculum — spanning Key Stages 1–5, IGCSE, and A-Levels — is the most widely offered curriculum in international schools across Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Developed by awarding bodies including Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and Pearson Edexcel, British-curriculum schools provide a structured, examination-focused pathway trusted by universities worldwide.

In the IGCSE years (typically Grade 9–10, ages 14–16), students choose 8–10 subjects and sit externally marked Cambridge or Edexcel examinations. A-Level study (Grade 11–12, ages 16–18) involves deep specialisation in 3–4 subjects, producing strong candidates for the world's top universities. The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and AS-Levels add breadth for selective university applications.

British-curriculum schools dominate the school markets in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the UAE. Leading institutions include Marlborough College Malaysia, Epsom College Malaysia, British School Kuala Lumpur, Tanglin Trust School Singapore, Shrewsbury International School Bangkok, and Brighton College UAE. Fees range from RM 20,000 in Malaysia to AED 80,000 in the UAE depending on school prestige.
